This is my story/nightmare about my 2002 Oldsmobile Alero repairs.

My car has been in for repairs since April 30th, 2015.

Friday, May 29th, 2015 at 4:11 p.m. I called Central Union Autos. There was no answer. They are supposed to be there until 6 p.m. so maybe they all decided to play hooky. I left a message saying, "This is Kim. I was wondering how my Alero is. I can be reached at (my phone number). Hope to hear from you soon. Happy early anniversary. Tomorrow will be 1 month you've had my car."

Saturday, May 30th, 2015 at 10:01 a.m. I received a call from Doug from Central Union Autos. We spoke for 27 minutes. I said he sounded tired and he told me that he had been working at the Casino until 4 a.m. then he proceeded to talk to me about the car. He said they had replaced the thermostat and it is still overheating. He thinks it needs a radiator or coolant/tranny flush which they do not have whatever it is that is needed for that. It's a $2000 item. He will be taking it to Phil's Automotive in Reedsburg, Wisconsin on Monday the 1st of June at 2 p.m. to have it done there. He said it will be costing $150 to have that done there and that his funds are depleted and that he needs the $80 plus tax, well $85 that I had for him here in cash for when he said the caliper or whatever broke on Thursday, May 7th, 2015. See Thursday, May 7th, 2015 - Week 1 to see what the caliper breaking is about.

I told him that yes I still have that cash waiting for him here. It was after he had sent me a receipt for all other work that had been done on the car. It was another expense that came up after the fact. I should call him back. Did he need that money immediately to pay for this at Phil's Automotive? If so he will need to come over for it as I have no vehicle. Duh! Where will he be getting the rest to put towards the $150 that he says it will be at Phil's Automotive? Hmmm.

Still on Saturday, May 30th, 2015, I just called Doug back at 10:57 a.m. and he knew it was me so he must have caller ID on the shop phone. I asked if he needed the $85 right away as he had mentioned that his funds were depleted. He said that he will figure it out when he comes to that or for me not to worry about it. The earlier conversation I had with him he had mentioned how hard it is just starting out his business. I agree it must not be easy starting out a new business but must I be drawn into the drama of it all? My bad for taking it to someone that does not have their business well established. *sighs*  Ok, so this conversation ended much as my earlier conversation with Doug. I will wait to hear from him sometime after Monday the 1st of June. After Phil's Automotive in Reedsburg, Wisconsin does a radiator or coolant/tranny flush.

Lesson learned: Do not take your car to be repaired to a business that is just starting up.
