This is my story/nightmare about my 2002 Oldsmobile Alero repairs.

My car has been in for repairs since April 30th, 2015.

At 10:52 a.m., Monday, June 1st, 2015 I called Doug at Central Union Autos and told him that I had looked for Phil's Automotive in Reedsburg, Wisconsin and could not find it so had spoke to a friend that owns a business in Reedsburg and that she had said Schulz' Automotive. I also had been in touch with a cousin who called Schulz' Auto Sales first and had asked if they were ever named Phil's Automotive or knew of a Phil's Automotive. They had told my cousin that they had been around for 40 years and never heard of a Phil's Automotive in Reedsburg. My cousin then called Schulz' Automotive Repair and asked them how much for a radiator flush. They had told him $150 to $195 for a radiator flush.

When mentioning this all to Doug he did not seem to want to say any more about this place called Phil's or did not correct me when I mentioned Schulz'. Doug proceeded to tell me that he had to cancel the appointment he had made with Phil's Automotive because his funds are depleted. That an unexpected bill came up over the weekend and that he now did not have the money to pay for the flush. I'm curious as to where the money went all ready that he has got off my Mother's credit card. Doug said that his only option now is to use his Farm N Fleet card/ credit card to get a kit to flush the radiator. He explained that it is a chemical kit for about $3.49? I'm sure that is what he said. I mentioned to him that my cousin had told me that he does it himself and uses a garden hose. Doug then told me that they had tried that all ready twice and that the first time a white like mud substance came out. The second time it came out clear but the car is still overheating so he seems to think that it has a clog still there somewhere. So as with every call with Doug it was left at my telling him that again I will wait to hear from him. How long should I wait? Hmmmm

In the meantime I'm going to start a gofundme page to see what help I can get to pay my Mom back. I appreciate that she was there to help me pay for the repairs. If it in fact gets repaired. Who knows I may end up needing another car? I should hope not. Can a person start a gofundme page for themselves or do I need someone else to set one up for me? Yes I know there are many other people out there needing help more than I but I need help with this and any help from someone out there willing to help me would be greatly appreciated. We'll see how things work out.

Still on Monday, June 1st, 2015, at 3:58 p.m. I called Doug at his business, Central Union Autos, and as I suspected he had not went to Farm N Fleet yet. He said other things came up and that he would try to get down there and get it done tonight. I told him that I am just anxious to get my car back.
My thoughts are that he got as much money as he could out of me and so he is in no hurry to finish the job.

Still on Monday, June 1st, 2015, at 4:50 p.m. Doug called me back and confessed that he had in fact went to Farm N Fleet but forgot to purchase the flush kit for my car. He said he went in to get 5 things and only came out with 2 of the items he went in for. He said that he has just been under so much stress, etc… I brought up that I realize I am probably not his only customer/client and that he must also be busy with other vehicles. He then proceeded to tell me that no in fact I am the only vehicle he has in at the moment and that he has no money coming in and that he is borrowing dollars upon dollars to stay afloat? Something to that effect.

Doug mentioned that he has put a lot of money into working on my car. I stopped him immediately and said "No I or rather my Mother has put a lot of money on this car." I then start to go over the items he has replaced on my car since the caliper broke on Thursday, May 7th, 2015. See Thursday, May 7th, 2015 - Week 1 to see what the caliper breaking is about.

I bring this up as after the caliper broke because everything before that had been paid for. He was going to wait to charge me for the caliper when I brought the car back to have the struts replaced at a later time but upon asking him what the caliper cost he told me $79.99 plus tax of $4.99 which I told him then that I had $80 left in cash that I could give him along with $5.00 in quarters that I had from laundry money. I wanted to keep it all paid up. Well since the caliper Doug has also replaced the thermostat which had been replaced in October of 2014 by Tanner's Repair in Elroy, Wisconsin. Doug also mentioned the radiator hoses and clamps. I told him that I would have to somehow pay him back for that. He had no other parts to mention. The subject of paying his employees came up. That he has been putting out money to pay his technicians to work on my car and so figures that in too as far as money he has put out on my vehicle.

The subject of the flush kit came up again. Doug said that he would go back to Farm N Fleet to get the flush kit tonight and then as most conversations with him it ended in my saying I would wait to hear from him or that he would call me to let me know how that works out.

Still on Monday, June 1st, 2015, at 5:51 p.m. I received another call from Doug to tell me that he had found another place to purchase this flush kit other than Farm N Fleet. He has found that Hartje in LaValle, Wisconsin has this flush kit. Why he was telling me this I do not know. Should I care where he buys it? Just get it, do the job and get my car back to me not overheating. SMH. We talk then about other things as we have in other conversations. It's difficult to keep track of everything that we talk about sometimes. I take notes as best I can as we talk. At one moment I brought up this Phil's Automotive in Reedsburg. I explained to Doug that my cousin had called Schulz' in Reedsburg and questioned them about if they knew of a Phil's Automotive. They said that they had been in business there for 40 years and had never heard of or known of a Phil's Automotive. I told this to Doug. Doug repeated the name Phil's and then set me straight telling me no that he had said Schulz'. Hmmmm. Later I found myself wondering does Phil's sound that close to the name Schulz that I would really get it mixed up. Hmmmm.

The subject came up of the work that has been done on my car. Doug said he would come to pick me up tomorrow, Tuesday, June 2nd, 2015 to bring me back to his shop to show me what he has done. He also said he would take me grocery shopping. I will see what tomorrow brings. Doug said that he would come to get me at 11 a.m. so I'll see if he calls to come pick me up tomorrow. I have a feeling somehow something will come up preventing him from coming over.
